“2 years ago I was completely lost and felt that time that any other full time job EVER was probably not attainable for me.
I had spent several years working on building sites and eventually started to feel responsible for all the waste and destruction that I saw every day. After years of ‘soul searching’ and research with other organisations, the depth of my feelings grew and grew about the impact I could make on the earth and how I could do my bit for the environment. Filling in time, I volunteered at TRUCE and soon discovered that my beliefs were echoed in the dreams of Ian the project manager. Together we have worked hard to save wood from going into landfill and turn it into useful products.
For the first time I believe that my input is making a positive difference to the environment, not just talking about it!
I am now employed full time (a miracle in itself!) as a project worker.
I can say in all honesty, that for the entire 2 years, I haven’t had one day when I have not been in a constant learning curve, practically, academically and emotionally.”

“Coming to TRUCE has enabled me to develop my woodworking skills. I am working towards Level 2 Key Skills Communication, IT training and my Health and Safety certificate with Carmen Trentham (curriculum coordinator).
As a full time mum this gets me out of the house into a happy working environment and gives me the liberation I am looking for without pressure.”
