14 to 16 Years Olds
We provide facilities and qualified staff to enable individuals and groups in the community to experience training. Provisions available through funders can provide a range of courses.Quite often we have school/college groups that participate with all aspects of TRUCE as part of their work experience programme. This is Elmwood School celebrating the end of their week placement with a B.B.Q.
16 to 19 Years Olds
TRUCE would like to welcome Jamie Powis. Jamie has secured an apprenticeship with us studying his P.M.O. (Production Manufacturing Operations).
Funding from VISTA and a partenership with Somerset County Training have made this position possible for Jamie.
If you are interested in an apprenticeship with TRUCE new funding will be available in April 2008.
P.E.T.E (Pre Entry To Employment, Connexions) organise taster placements for students to come in for 1 day a week for 2 weeks. The students can then see what it is like to work in a business environment whilst receiving Health and Safety training, Pallet truck training and gain experience using hand tools safely, and basic carpentry skills from qualified staff.
Training for 19+
We have a fully equipped room with access to 6 computers and a SMART board. Training takes place here in a relaxed environment with qualified staff available for teaching and support.
This room is also available for hire.
